🐾 Ragdoll Overview

Ragdoll Origin: Developed in the 1960s by breeder Ann Baker in California, Ragdolls were selectively bred for their relaxed temperament and blue eyes.

Size: Large; males 15–20 lbs, females 10–15 lbs. They grow slowly and reach full size by 4 years.

Lifespan: 12–17 years.

Temperament: Docile, affectionate, and people-oriented. They often go limp when picked upβ€”hence the name β€œRagdoll.”

Care Needs

  • Diet: Protein-rich diet to support muscle development. Controlled feeding prevents overeating.

  • Exercise: Moderate activity; enjoys playing but prefers lounging with family.

  • Grooming: Weekly brushing for their semi-long fur. Less prone to matting than other long-haired breeds.
