Origin: The Maine Coon is one of the oldest natural breeds in North America, originating in Maine. It is thought to have developed from long-haired cats brought by European seafarers.
Size: Large; males 13β18 lbs, females 8β12 lbs. Height ranges from 10β16 inches.
Lifespan: 12β15 years.
Temperament: Gentle, friendly, and intelligent. Known as βgentle giants,β they get along well with children, dogs, and other pets.
