Origin: The Alaskan Malamute was bred by the native Mahlemut tribe of Alaska to haul heavy sleds over long distances. They are one of the oldest Arctic sled dog breeds.
Size: Typically 75–100 pounds; stands 23–25 inches tall.
Lifespan: 10–14 years.
Temperament: Friendly, loyal, and dignified. They are pack-oriented and thrive on companionship.
